IT’S ALL ABOUT THE CHILDREN
The 95th annual Rittenhouse Square Flower Market is solely run to benefit local children’s charities. Each year, up to four different, deserving and dedicated organizations are carefully selected as the beneficiaries of the Markey. This year, all proceeds from your purchases at the Market will support the following truly exceptional Philadelphia charities:

  • Little Smiles – a local, very personal “make-a-wish” organization;
  • Overbrook School for the Blind;
  • Stop Child Abuse Now;
  • Lincoln Day Education Center – A pre-school raising money this year to be able to better serve children with a handicap.

MOTHER’S DAY SHOPPING!!
What better way can you show your mother how much you care than by presenting her with a beautiful plant. let her know that your gift to is being given not only to beautify her home or garden, but also to directly benefit deserving, hard-working, very special children who are challenged. One cannot find a better “Circle of Life” than this.
This year, for the first time in 95 years, we’ve scheduled the Flower Market for the week of Mother’s Day, so we could be a part of your showing Mother just how special she is.

INTRODUCING OFFICE/INDOOR/DESK PLANTS
Because of the overwhelming number of requests for green and flowering indoor plants, we’ll be offering a selection of plants requiring very little light. Decorative pots designed and executed by the children to compliment these plants will be available. We want to provide the perfect little pick-me-up for your own desk or to give as inexpensive, thoughtful gifts to co-workers.

INTRODUCING “EVERLASTING” PLANTS; PERFECT FOR TERRACES
Well, everything has it’s place, and we’re trying something new this year. At last, for those of you who say you can kill anything, we offer the alternative of everlasting plants. During the days of much lesser quality, these items were formerly called “fake”. Your terrace can now have completely maintenance-free greenery all year round, Maybe not for the purist, but certainly for the practical.

CUSTOM DESIGN AND TERRACE PLANTINGS
Just last year, we introduced custom plantings. Bring your own pots and/or planters, to have them expertly planted with flowering plants and herbs, in the design, color and items of your choice. Frank Mueller, a plant professional and new member to our Board, will be on-hand help you design and to execute your individual plantings.

Also, if you live on Rittenhouse Square and would like your terrace expertly planted by the Market, meet Frank at the Flower Market Booth, to discuss and schedule your own custom terrace planting. We introduced this service last year, to the extreme delight of those who took advantage of it. There’s no more reasonable or charitable way to have the beauty of plants right outside your high-rise windows.
